Projects include painting, mixed media, textiles and mural residencies and are based around selected themes discuss and planned ahead with the participants. I like to schedule in a planning meeting/s, an introductory session, drawing and IT research, notebook/journal keeping, drawing and design, and finally creating and making within the projects that I deliver. I have experience of developing and delivering projects that allow the participants to explore and create both individually and collaboratively. My way of working engages processes that encourage the development of personal creative skills and fulfilment through the practice of making art together.

I helped the children to create an artwork to celebrate walking to school.
They kept their observations and ideas about walking to school in a notebook as a 'Journey Journal'' in preparation for my visit. We designed and worked collaboratively to the artwork.

Feedback comments
‘Gloria encouraged them to take on the challenge and gave them an element of control. The project was less directed than normal class work which let the pupils experience a real design situation’.
‘The collage was fantastic and the children enjoyed working together.
The children loved being part of a team that all worked together to create the finished collage’.

2008 Sharing Stories – A unique textile/mixed media piece of artwork that incorporates, reflects and celebrates the rich heritage and history of Silai for Skills and the women who have worked with the organisation. The four large textile panels are a timeline that is a permanent exhibit piece shown at Silai and venues around Bristol. Each banner (2.5metres in height) was made during workshop sessions with art group and participants of the Silai for Skills Project, Easton, Bristol. The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery fund.

This one is so lovely, and typical of the fun you can have with the pupils deloping so many skills to achieve a fantastic outcome, Easton Primary school Bristol.
